Of Meng Kee Char Siew
Sorry for the non blogging the past few days, the flickr account was expired and i was hesitant about getting a new one.....before i realised how much i miss flickring and all whole community commentingresponding thing that was going on there.
So here are the new uploads and more to come. Most from the previous food trip in KL.
Best Char Siew in KL. The charred bits surround an equal amount of succulent fat and meat. It melts in your mouth with a very sweet savory taste.

Of Letterments
I'm halfway through season three of Battlestar Galactica and almost reaching the base level of epic nil social life. I'm one and half more seasons to go before returning to normalilty. Midway watching one of best sci fi spaceship special effects scene ever* the father came into the room with some mail.
*SE3E04...Exodus P2...go google the "Adama Maneuver" and Youtube it
Said mail had an envelope beaing a logo of little monkey waving its menacing paws-of-low-cap-score. There is always deep fear when you see the light paper bag brown envelope with the NUS crest. It was from the architecture department.
oh shit...must be some laser room ban, sorry you owe us $ or please take down your blog for incriminating post kinda thing.
instead the letter read
"Dear Sir
RAMALINGAM MEDAL, 2007/2008
We offer our warmest blah blah blah.........blah blah blah Architecture Structures & Construction Technology module blah blah"
Kongrashulashions!
At least those 5 sleepless nights paid off heh?
anyway the mother and father are happy, especially when bummer of a son is staying at home most of the time watching spaceships with pretty cyclon babes fold space and fight for/against the survival of the human race.
But the more important question is this: who is Ramalingam? He certainly wasn't in the lectures....of which i only missed one because i was in Hong Kong betting on horses, i attended the rest.
Boys and Girls of NUS this means that attending lectures actually help okay! can win medal one.
back to BSG!
* note aforementioned blog entry was more to link you back to some old photos, post and links that i wanted to share. It's not to show off but yes the letter is for real.
(but who is Ramalingam??)

Of Space
Of late i have been totally hooked on Battlestar Galactica...so much so as to wish i had a Cyclon girlfriend called Sharon.
anyhoo ever wondered why you get to hear the "woosh" of spaceships, the low deep drones of motherships or the "bew bew" of lasers on your favorite epic space movies? I mean isn't space a large vacuum and we all know sound needs a medium to travel.
A few more episodes of battlestar and i'll be back to blogging again.
good hunting!

Of Koon Kee
JY can you believe we walked past this store like a million times and never walked in? its damn good lah. Its behind one of those bing gan or bah kwa stores along Petaling.
from that hole in the wall stall in the middle of Petaling.
I've heard many good things about them and they sure don't disappoint with their stringy rich eggy noodles and great dark sweet sauce to go with it. The wantan and the charsiew though aren't that fantastic, but i really just wanted to try the noodles.
i'm a sucker for dingy small food places with legendery reputations. So i probably am very biased with the review, but hey if your like me, Koon Kee is the place to go (or find).
