The Day a Half Ang-Moh and a "Only Speak English" Chinese GOT completely trashed by the city.
Unlike the first field trip, Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar beat us up like sissy wimps. The place, I tell you, is best dealt with by car than on foot. The site were all too far away from each other, spending more time walking than taking photos. Tiring if you consider that our only form of exercise we get in Architecture school is pencil sharpening.
I didn't help that it rained in the morning and the sky was overcast for the better part of the day. But heck, we still went ahead.
Thomas hiding from the bad weather
Half time break at Hong Lim Market
Thomas said this place had the BEST char kway tiao (though I think the one at Hill Street is the best, the "harm" here is very shiok though)
Thian Hock Keng's resident cat is camera shy
Things turned good when we hit Tanjong Pagar or what i think is Shophouse Heaven. Neil, Everton, Amoy, Blair are not members of some indie band but the roads which have the few better preserved buildings in Singapore. The weather clearded up and the sky was amazing. Shuxian joined us for about two plus hours, so that really gave us more boost, and more crappy photo opportunities of course.
Shuxian and I take turns up the spiral staircase as we check out the shophouse auntie's daughter next door.
157 Neil Road, half of the archi year ones can tell you exact dimensions of it's toilet, the other half just know that Ben and Jerry's exist in Mandai Zoo.
7-Eleven Slurpee break. A moment of brain freeze is a flash of inspiration.
Hell wheel chair ?
This time i tahan even further and only used two rolls of film (any less and i have to chop off my fingers). Taking photos the old school way is not very wallet friendly, 70 dollars was the damage done the last field trip. Ouch, the good point is that the photo's rocked.
Thomas ran out of film at Tanjong Pagar and because he spent all his money on Char Kway Tiao, he couldn't get anymore. So I lent him my digital, this is by him. Not bad huh?
