Of Homemade Mushroom Swiss Double

Dubbie and I wanted to zhng a fast food classic today, and so we met for lunch at burger king and decided to do a something we both liked, Burger King's Mushroom Swiss Double. (okay i really love whoppers but mushroom swiss had more challenge) And we wanted it zhng-ed....zhng meaning it had to be souped up in the flavour department and taste better than the original.....better because whats the point of redoing the same thing you can get for cheap at BK?

The operation/experiment is based on the idea that we wanted to make whats good even better. by now i know some may think "hey.....if its not spoilt don't fix it!"

but you see the point of it isn't just redoing something its about questioning the conventional, deconstructing then reconstructing something nodescri..........ah heck we just wanna have fun.

Homemade Mushroom Swiss Double

Both patty and mushroom sauce were spiced up with a mish mash of herbs and freshly made with produce from your friendly cold storage. (i suck at irony i know) The fact that its freshly prepared (minced beef and fresh mushrooms) already makes it better than your microwaved burger meal that was shipped from some secret BK factory in the middle of nowhere (still amazing though, considering it how we all love it)

anyhoo the mushroom sauce was teh bombez and looked exactly like the one used at BK's only that it tasted more buttery and had a stronger mushroomy flavour which was what we wanted anyway. The patty though tasted more like Mcdonalds sausage patties (the ones they serve on your sausage mcmuffin). Not that this is a bad thing considering that fact that those patties are quite good too...anyway so now we know souped up BK flame grilled beef patties become Mcdonald Sausage Patties when you add a lttle too much added ingredients.

There was suppose to be some onion rings to go along but that didn't turn out right. Will try again next time. Does anyone know why BK's (or any other fast food joint) onion's rings all appear the same size and yet they all really taste like a full onion ring? is a mystery we need to solve to figure this one one...and then we can start making our own soft drinks and set up a fast food empire muahahhaa....

dubbie being the one more familiar with burgers mainly did the cooking magic while i just stood there asking silly questions and photographing the whole thing (of which instructionals would be out somewhere sometime).
Therefore this burger shall hereby be known as "MUSHROOM SWISS DUBBIE"

We have plans to deconstruct alot of other classics in the future, Chicken Mcnargets, MOS Burger, Indo Mie and lotsa other ohsogoodclassics....

why? you may ask

....just because we can and have too much free time.
(hell yeah for holidays!)
Any suggestions please drop a email or tag.
