Of Social Studies

corridor supreme court, originally uploaded by jonolist.

This is so fun! i think by next year this photo may grace the cover of a primary six social studies textbook! i shite you not!

here's an email i just got from Marshall Cavendish (the people who make illustrated reference books, mainly used as textbooks for Primary Schools here.)

Hi,

This is Angie, editorial assistant at Marshall Cavendish
International (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

We're currently working with Ministry of Education
(Singapore) [MOE] to produce Social Studies textbooks for the
Primary 5 and 6 students.

Would like to use this image as the cover of the books:
- Supreme Court

Found at www.flickr.com/photos/jonolist/103034684/in/sef-1487971/

Title of Book: Social Studies: Interacting With Our World
Course Book Primary 6B (EM1/2)

Publication Date: October 2007

Target Audience: Primary Six students

Territorial Rights Sought: Singapore

blah blah blah...and other rules and regulations

so fun!

It feels like i'm preserving part of Singapore's history in the minds of our future! Kids will go to to Supreme court and take photos at that buststop, in the future that building will be known as part New National Art Gallery/Former Supreme Court/That Social Studies Building. Though i think it'll just be a small pic in some small corner of the cover but still, hey! i'm on a social studies textbook, no need for pick up lines for cute primary school teachers!

update:

turns out their moving the photo to the inside cover.....sigh..still good enough though.
