Penang!
So two weeks back we were in Penang on the 6th day of our backpacking trip. We kinda got lost in Penang but heck being lost meant finding many unexpected surprises and Penang is one place that will not disappoint.
Not too far away from where we dropped of (till now i still dunnoe where we were) was a stationary store...wait not store wholesale supplier and i'm not talking about cheap hello kitty stationery okay, we aree talking about damn good daler-rowney, rotring faber castell goods. And at amazingly good prices, just think everything is the same price as in Singapore but in Ringgit (i'm beginning to love this currency) and thats before the shop owner saw us and gave us more discounts. Damn i love this place. Heres just some of the stuff we got.

The shop owner was nice enough to give us some directions to the hostel we were intending to stay in. Along the way we passed by the Little India of penang which i must say is damn happening and its near the beach which make sit more happening. Bollywood hits blasting in the background, good food, busy roads, colourful stores. I could spend a week here.
After about an hour or two of walking then hitching a ride on the free transit bus (yes free bus) we made our way to 100 Cintra Street, which is off Chulia Street, a backpackers heaven for both foreigners and Malaysian's from other states. We found this hostel online and feel in love with it. What a amazing place. By the way, for you archi students, it has won a Aga Khan Award for Architecture, yeah the one that Mr Cheah talks about during archi con class. The owner of the place was very hospitable and knowing that we were studenst gave us a discount on an already very affordable price for a night. 28 Rinngit for a one night stay in a shophouse is priceless even without air-con (but with heated bathes...rare in hostels)
here's the owner at the common tv area where we caught a "ahem" early screening of Scary Movie 4 at night.
Alot more happened in between but being the sixth day most of my Memory Stick was used up and we still had Melaka to capture. Anyhoo there's alot more on film of which will take some time to scan in manually, so hold on!
