Of 九記牛腩

I still miss Hong Kong food so here's one more post on Beef Brisket Noodles somewhere the guys accidentally found during lunch break. Upon further research this little beef brisket place turns out to be world famous. yeah famous as in you can go google "Kau Kee Beef Brisket Noodles" and you'll get a wiki entry and 1 gazillion blog raves about it. I shit you not.

Kau Kee Ngau Lam (beef brisket noodles)
I bet my balls to say its the best in the world!!!

The broth is simple, clean and full of beef essence. The beef bisket is gooey and the meat ooohhh so tender. (yes i use nonsense descriptions because it truly is out of this world!)

Noodles served are not the regular variety you get in Hong Kong noodle houses, instead you get "yee mien" which are the coarser ones us Singaporeans prefer to call Mee Pok, which was surprisingly springy and good.

They serve small portions which means you should really go for two bowls, order their curry beef too for kicks. Its a bowl of beef tendons served in curry. Sinful stuff that's not rubbery or too soft.

Oh be sure to get there early.

The long queues at Kau Kee Restaurant are a common sight everyday. Its so good it closes by 8pm and doesn't even open on Sundays!

You'll know Kau Kee has reputation, note the BMWssss nearby and along with one or two Porschesssss we saw along the way. Good thing we were near the front of the line. Make sure you order your brisket fast when your inside. Their pretty Brisk! (hur hur)
