what the gxfc is "CHARETTE"?

so the break is here but technically its not really a break its just a time where there are no lectures (of which we rarely go anyway) and more time to catch up with whatever we have ...which is alot. Come Monday, design studio is going to do a "charrette"...a what? yes if you like me have no idea what a gong xi fa cai Charrette (pronounced shur-ret) is then read on.

Simi si Charrette? from Wikipedia

The term “charette” evolved from a pre-1900 exercise at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in France. Architectural students were given a design problem to solve within an allotted time. When that time was up, the students would rush their drawings from the studio to the Ecole in a cart called a charrette. Students often jumped in the cart to finish drawings on the way. The term evolved to refer to the intense design exercise itself. Today it refers to a creative process akin to visual brainstorming that is used by design professionals to develop solutions to a design problem within a limited timeframe.

Nothing new mah......but it does sound less boring than "4 hour design" and you can badly pronounced it no one will care. "eh today we have charlotte...you ready or not?" "ahhh a charred rat!"

and the lame jokes ensue.
