Top Ten Signs Why I Think Melyvn Tan Should do NS
Okay enough! I wake up with a terrible headache and this NS drafter has to make it worse.
I am hundred and one percent sure, confirm plus stamp plus chop that there are people especially my brudders who went through NS think that there is something wrong. Call it injustice, unfairness, double standards, rubbing it in your face (like asking him to be the jury of the piano contest) , demeaning the duty of NS, sending out the wrong message. I think i have one solution to all this. Melyvn Tan should serve NS. Yah lah, i know....he's 49 already, but my 40 plus year old encik can run faster than most 18 year old kids. 7. You lost your $30 000 deposit, yeah i know last time watch movie only need 50 cents, inflation and all. But please? Even $60 000 also cannot pay for the house you live in Notting Hill. Damn atas....
6. People say you suffered enough from the fact that you never got to come back for so long and couldn't see your parents. Hey that's your choice lah. When we go overseas training for months or get stuck in camp, we too never see our loves one, family and friends.
5. Because you had a special talent doesn't mean that NS will ruin your dreams of becoming a World-Class whatever. Army can let you bring in your guitar mah, i even had a friend who brought in his Casio Eletronic Keyboard, i think you should give it a try.
4. You give a damn hard time for the superiors in Army who have to answer to their men. Mindef people must explain on the papers, intructors in BMT (of which i was one) must explain to new recruits the importance of National Service. Those recruits do read the papers you know and all this is giving them a big headache.
3. You are really not a man if you never go through NS. Enough said.
2. People have to come up with good reasons when they apply leave or take off days in NS. Like i got driving test, my brother is getting married, i have a medical appointment. Your 10950 day off (30 years) for piano lessons doesn't sound reasonable.
